Christmas Sharing Brings on Smiles In preparation for the feast of Christmas, the parish
in Trujillo organizes a small “fiesta” to celebrate with the poorest

Once the toy in handed out there is the second part of the celebration which is a cup of hot chocolate. This is the one day of the year were Peruvian tradition dictates that everyone should at least get some hot chocolate. With the chocolate comes a small sweet bread (paneton), filled with raisins and some dried fruit. It is a once in a year treat that the children devour with great enthusiasm. There are five sections of the parish that are in the
poorest areas and in all over 1,000 children receive gifts and the hot
